Endless Summer

So, I've finally finished high school, which leaves me with a lot of time on my hands. Time, of course, that I'll be using for the comic. All of BnB save a couple scenes in the center of the story are scripted out in excrutiating detail. I just need to convert that outline to script and I'll be good to go. I've started on the drawings for the first issue as well. I have oter little art projects I'm working on this summer as well, but they shouldn't suck up too much time...

One of those side projects may be an animated trailer for the comic. I'll probably put it on the backburner until the comic is up and running, but I've got it storyboarded. Here's a quick sketch I did at school of one of the possible frames (and, consequently, part of a panel in the comic)

How about another quick sketch? I've got some backup stories in my mind involving the BnB cast when they first met, ad small children. It'd probably be nothing more than some quick vote incentive strips, but I had the urge to draw them all as first graders anyway. Here ya go:

Next post'll have an excerpt from the final draft of the script, maybe some rough pencils of a page or two. ;)

Enya, Becca and John

Alrighty, first character pics for anyone takng a looksie here. From left ot right, it's Enya Blakely, Becca Brennan, and John Giffen, three of the main characters. They're all good friends of Tara's who get wrapped up in the mystery surroundng Tara's abilities, and the elusive meta humans who they begin to track down from newspaper articles.

Some quick personality descriptions:Enya is cynical and intuitive. Becca is rather naive and emotional. John has an incredible temper and is geekier than Tara. I draw them all a lot, but for some reason, I don't think I've put, for instance, any pics of Becca on my devart page. I had issues getting her hair and face the way I wanted it, so I didn't put up her first draft when I put the rest of them up. The other two show up in my account, like, twice. I'm so negligent.

Back to drawing; I started drawing page 3 20 minutes ago, but I'm twitchy, so I decided to scan these sketchies instead(this is what I do in school all day XP).

Welcome!

Welcome to the the Black and Blue Production Blog! I'm Snap, the writer and artist of the forthcoming superhero webcomic, Black and Blue. This blog is where I'll be posting sketches, excerpts, character bios and my thoughts on the webcomic as I work toward my August 2007 launch date. I've had this story in my head since my freshmen year of highschool (four years!), and I'm really excited to get the ball rolling. To the right you'll see something that says "Page Progress." As I work on the comic, I'll be updating that sucker, so if you're curious as to how far behind I am, that's the place to look. ;) If you're here from my deviantart account, you probably recognize the character to the left; her name is Tara Benquest, aka the Seeker, and she just happens to be the protagonist of my little project. I'll be posting some other character sketches soon(meaning later tonight if my scanner decides to work). Anyway, I hope y'all will read my comic come August.
